Let me transport you to a place of wonder and nostalgia, a sanctuary designed to evoke the ethereal beauty and boundless freedom of the sky: welcome to "Casa del Cielo."
Inspired by my cherished childhood memories of gazing up at the sky, feeling the lightness of the clouds and the exhilarating sense of freedom they represent, "Casa del Cielo" is not just an exhibit; it's a suspended, surreal realm where the earth touches the sky.
At the heart of this installation is "Celeste," the embodiment of the sky itself. "Celeste," meaning "of the sky," is a site-specific installation meticulously crafted to adapt and harmonize with its surroundings. Composed of different cloud forms, "Celeste" cascades from the heavens to the earth, draping gracefully all the way to the "Isole" - side tables ingeniously crafted from shells recovered from food waste, a beautiful reminder of sustainability and the interconnectedness of all things.
As you explore further, you will discover a mesmerizing composition of two lighting sculptures. First, Draco's constellation, a breathtaking trail of shimmering stars that traces the mighty form of the dragon as it winds its way across the night sky. Its celestial coils stretch across the Cassiopeia, the celestial queen of beauty and grace. A series of brilliant stars carved from the very fabric of the cosmos, her silhouette an intricate tapestry woven from the twinkling lights of a thousand distant suns.
And let's not forget Aquari, the Water Bearer babies, said to have been born from the union of the heavens and the earth, embodying both celestial and terrestrial essence. A symbol of harmony, balance, and the cyclical nature of life itself.
"Casa del Cielo" invites you to pause, to dream, and to reconnect with the wonder of the natural world. It's a place of refuge, a sanctuary where you can leave behind the hustle and bustle of daily life and immerse yourself in the timeless beauty of the sky.
