PERSEPHONE'S WORLD

Welcome to Persephone’s World, a passage through light, myth, and material memory.

Created by artist and designer Mirei Monticelli, this installation reawakens the ancient myth of Persephone, a goddess of spring and queen of the underworld - through sculptural forms, symbolic lighting, and handcrafted textures. Palazzo Cordusio becomes a stage for transformation: a space suspended between realms, echoing the eternal return of the goddess.

Step beneath a glowing archway, the threshold between light and shadow.
Watch as tongues of fire flicker with the raw energy of descent.
Gaze into a radiant globe, symbol of rebirth and the turning of seasons.
Lose yourself in a reflective mirrored table that dissolves space, suggesting the unseen world beyond.

Each element is shaped from Banaca fiber, a sustainable material handwoven by artisans in the Philippines—honoring a commitment to tradition, innovation, and community.

Presented during Fuorisalone 2025, and inspired by this year’s theme Connected Worlds, Persephone’s World invites you to reflect, reimagine, and wander the line between what is seen and what is sensed.

You’ve entered her story. Welcome to the threshold.
